Our History


Olumawu was established in Abuja in January 1993, eight years after the parent school at Ilorin was founded by a renowned educationist Chief Mrs Margaret Oloruntomiwo Audu of blessed memory.

Chief Mrs. Margaret Audu was of royal ancestry, daughter of Olumawu and grand child of His Royal Majesty Oba Gbayero Ajibohokun, Obaro of Kabba (1870 - 1923).

Olumawu Basic Education School is dedicated to the memory of the life and times of Princess Olumawu. Abuja of 1993 was practically without schools and for a long while, Olumawu was one of the few schools in the city. Chief Mrs. Margaret AuduHitting the ground running, with superlative performance of her pupils in the national common entrance examinations and the inspiring extra curricular activities the school soon acquired a solid reputation for academic excellence.
